Lanna Woman (Wat Umong)

Laura Spector

Body Art

Description of the artwork

The painting on the body is actually a recreation of a historical artwork.

A Lanna woman, also known as a Wat Umong, which is a name being originated from Thailand (where Spector stayed for 10 years), is painted on the human body.

The woman being painted on, if seen carefully, is covering her face while bending one of her legs.

This is another use of illusions of human body painting.
